I used to really enjoy his posts and always looked forward to seeing his advice. It feels like he completely vanished a while back and has been totally MIA for a hot minute now. Does anyone have any news, or has anyone caught him posting on another platform lately? Hope he's just taking a well-deserved break and doing well, but if anyone knows what happened, please let me know! Miss seeing his expertise around here.

Honestly, I think people get tired of this subject and move on. This is the first time I've looked at this website in 2 years. I just stopped by to see what's new and nothing is new.

People still bitching about how much poppers suck now or don't buy from this company because they will rip you off or this companies claims about their poppers are overrated or can I bring poppers to XYX country or I live in XYZ country and want to know where is the best place to get poppers.

Or finally, DIY popper makers who argue over making poppers on here then resort to calling each other hacks or dumb.

Pardon me? It is my understanding that he is in FACT a veteran. It is my assumption that, not suffering from maladies of feet, outgrowths of the heel, ingrowing toenails, nor having a podiatrist that rented premises from his papa, he was able to serve his country.

popchef2 was not a chemist, and I never trusted the guy. He posted HIS technique that he was doing in his house/apartment bathroom on the granite countertops. Then he was working on some sort of improved process that involved distillation while he was making it. Someone paid him to not publish the process (allegedly) which he didn't deny for a few years and then started denying that it ever happened. The other weird thing is that he had an alt called wetcotton that he denied was his alt. The only time anyone ever heard from wetcotton was to be invited into the subreddit which was popchef2's.

Something was very wrong with this picture. He was always in an argument with that idiot Ken and they would go on for days arguing about nothing.

I am puzzled to this day what was going on. It seems like a conspiracy to mislead us, but who would do something like that? This predates LLM chat bots by years, so there were humans hard at work on the forums.

Yeah man. The bitching between "the professor" and Ken was weird. Ken always made up some BS and started every comment with "OMG I FINALLY DID IT" which made me write off every forum that I visited. Ken's BS was anti-scientific, and "the professor" at least had a process, but nobody could ever get his "pure" product even with ACS grade reagents.

I went so far as doing my reactions with a row of peristaltic pumps loaded with Viton tubing, two thermocouples, temperature control, and could never recreate what I was able to buy prior to about 2010.

Popchef hails from Nebraska. His wife had health issues and he was her caretaker. This is the last I knew and I used to be one of his guinea pigs he would send his 'batches' to, along with his DIY mask for inhalation. Don't know much more about all the stupid arguments which transpired here, other than they were nauseating. I also attempted many futile attempts to DIY a product similar to what was readily available circa 1980-2000 (Joe Miller PWD era). I used Popchef recipe he published on Reddit and my final takeaway was the need for a quality pharmaceutical grade SN and the importance of strict post processing steps to avoid toxic batches.
