If privacy is your thing then use a virtual number, lots of options there, and you can get on Telegram without disclosing to them your number. The only issue is getting the SMS code i think....what happens with updates I am not really sure, but I think it's all fine, I must say.

Telegram has been against smutty adult content on their platform, but they haven't really enforced that policy until recently. Suddenly, they're blocking porn channels and chats. Meanwhile, other apps like Twitter and Tumblr have iOS versions that allow adult content, as long as users are 18 and up.
