You may notice if you didn't follow the Noyes recipe or if you have old poppers, your nose will start to close up. Depending on the age of the poppers and the purity of SN, your anal canal may even close up and you will find no pleasure in dildos. Heating it up also increases this. It is a dangerous trade off.

Actually, it's so much cheaper and easier to make isopropyl nitrite following the 10-10-20 formula at 40 to 50F. 10 grams SN, 10 mls muriatic and 20 mls Equate 70% isopropyl alcohol from Walmart(2 bucks).

Add the 10 mls chilled acid(not subzero), to the pot of SN and 70%IPA(no extra water added) and you end up with potent, liquid gold with no bad effects. You'll want to ride that favorite dildo of yours all day long.

Yes, IPN can be super bad IF...and ONLY IF it's improperly made and fraught with toxic impurities.

You make it the way I discovered on my own and it won't be.

One of the primary rules in chemistry is 'respect the stoichiometry' and this bastardized prep severely disrespects the stoich

any other readers will want to know that the way to tame IsoPropyl nitrite is NOT to make a half ester. Half esters WILL have less strength, true, and IsoPropyl nitrite has a reactivity that higher than the active ingredient (Nitric Oxide) at about 120%, which is more than even a very fit youth would be able to tolerate for very long.

The problem with the above, which Ken seems to have settled on (and he has been trying to carve out his own little niche by trying methods that contradict known laws, hoping to accidentally get lucky), is that half esters decompose faster than full esters. He MIGHT be making something that has reactivity in the 70% range with this method, which is nearly the same reactivity of his beloved n-Pentyl nitrite, but the purity will be low (since at 40-50F temperature the eq constant of the reaction favors ingredient over product.

That's a fact that he'd much rather ignore or dispute, since I posted it and he has a bug up his ass about me ever since a friend of mine showed him up a decade ago.

Stick with known procedures, and when exploring use your critical thinking skills, start with 'first principles' and extrapolate them into test runs until you attain reaction control. then you will
have more than opinion, you will have empirical evidence.

Once you reach that point, all of Ken's rude, ridiculous outbursts and Gaslighting will be humorous AF

I too did a 360 over 12 years. I started making IPN, thought it was toxic garbage...worked up to IBN, tried butyl a few times...always toxic....and then amyl...which seemed like a big improvement given it wasn't nearly as toxic no matter what. Taking the clue of Everett Farr...using less water and higher temps, I tried making IPN again...and walla!!! It's really good and by far cheaper and easier to obtain the reagents, given Walmart sells plenty of IPA.

Thomas did a one and done 11 years ago and has stopped learning ever since. So he has no clue how to make good IPN. Nor does he know how to make good butyl nitrite, which should have a distinctive deodorized locker room scent when left open in a room. Hint hint...that's why the first brand name was "Locker room"...who would have thought.

Correction;

I attained reaction control within the first month

I then started experimenting with long term preservation

I confirmed that -12C preps have less than 0.2% of unreacted alcohol, which removes odors from the equation (at birth anyway, they still decompose)

I discovered that removing butyric acid from the yield significantly changes any remaining aroma (the 'locker room' scent that is only going to get stronger as yield degrades) to practically nothing (this significantly improves preservation)

I created a mixed blend technique, that is now being done by several vendors.

After a few years, I decided to explore the vapor phase prep, and had even more fun.

Ken's ridiculous assumptions (starting with my name) are all garbage.

He has an injured sokeen, and can't metabolize poppers very well.

Thus, his inferior vessel is no match for just about everything that is more active than a sloppily prepared Amyl nitrite.

I've pointed the wat to a FULLY reactive prep for IsoPropyl that would last a long time, but he insists on doing it halfway, 10 ml at a time, and falling apart after a few days.
