I think the pup community is the one where folks live as a canine, with a mask, foot pads, collar, and the best bit the tail (a butt plug). If it is an offshoot of BDSM I am not sure, maybe sometimes. Participants describe the psychological euphoria of this role play. Unusual, but interesting, and is a lifestyle for some.
