I recently watched a Youtube video where two gay guys in England opened a bottle of poppers and stated they smelled very strong and similar to magic markers.
I would agree. I just threw out some older home made isopropyl nitrite and it smelled strong like magic marker. This must be a characteristic scent of this particular nitrite. It's one of the reason I don't like it as much as normal amyl nitrite, which has a very mild scent.

must be those pesky impurities.....or maybe the product was made at room temperature and had more than 10% unreacted alcohol in it. I don't see the point, and never did.
When amyl nitrite brings you to the low 90%s in pulseOX or below, and n-Amyl nitrite is 72% reactive; who in their right mind would expect it to be at ALL similar to Isopropyl nitrite (which is 116% reactive).
