Hi everyone- I took one whiff of poppers for the first time about 5 days ago and have since had a slight shortness of breath, some phlegm, and a cough. My blood pressure and heart rate is fine but my heart beat feels off as well (maybe be a symptom of the shortness of breath). I find it difficult to fall asleep as well. Has anyone dealt with this? Is this a cause for concern?

Take a lateral flow test, sounds more like C-19 than side effects from poppers
What brand were you using? Was it Isopropyl?

Yeah I thought the same- negative on COVID. Not sure what type chemically but the brand was ‘Jungle Juice”

@NYC....bad poppers can have a whole range of bad effects.....I believe much of it is due to impurities. But bad side effects "might" be inherent to isopropyl nitrite in particular.

Yes your symptoms are of alkyl nitrites. And not of impurities. Those symptoms cannot be avoided, but they don't last days but seconds or minutes if not inhaled years many times in a day. You have read your books but not carefully.

@Book....some of the effects of poppers are inherent to them...true enough....BUT impurities can and will make the undesirable effects worse. The presence of acid is one example. It should be there...but if it is...it will irritate the lining in the throat/airway.
Caving blood pressure is always present when I inhale my home brew isopropyl nitrite, but it doesn't happen with my home brew amyl nitrite, no matter how hard I hit it, which I just did for 30 minutes.

Typo...acid should "NOT" be present in a popper

I should define "caving"...it means when the blood pressure falls so low, you feel unwell. It also means normal BP is slow to return and may take hours.....and it might cave each and every time a whiff is taken, which means there will be ZERO pleasure to be with any whiff.
