Im a hetero dude. Posted a few times here and there. Any of you ever feel a bit disgusted with yourself after a solo session ? Leading up to it, I'm horny as hell and not a concern in the world. Got my poppers in hand and ready to view my favorite vids. I like the solo fantasy stuff from Xev Bellringer or Bettie Bondage. Well anyway, Im doing my thing. A couple of long hits followed by a few minutes of vid viewing and cock stroking. Im good for maybe 10-20 minutes of this before I finally have to let loose. After that, my head is still throbbing for probaby 5 minutes because I always way way overdo it by sniffing for way to long. And then before In know it, I have cum dripping off my fingers, a cum soaked towel between my legs, a popper bottle in one hand and my android tablet in my other hand. And I start thinking, what the hell am In doing ? Good God!! This isn't a Kodak moment. Its a little bit of embarrasment mixed with aittle sadness. But give me a few days, and I'm back doing it again. Actually I did about an hour ago.

Aaw man never ever feel ashamed of pleasuring yourself. You are doing no harm to anyone else, so kick back and enjoy your poppers and your body. We only live once!

It could be a dis-associative state, rather than shame. Maybe shame for you, depending on your individual mindset, but could also be post-climax anxiety? Nitritespecialist and others might know about the actual chemical / biological cause here. As Gaz says...We only live once

I had the same feeling of shame and disorientation after my poppers orgasms. I remember that, as a child, when I discovered masturbation, I felt the same.
The problem was that I got addicted to the high and I eventually suffered permanant eye and brain damage from the nitrites (I am now 6 months clean with LSD microdosing therapy, but hell I wish I had never touched poppers, still have eye problems, skin damage and impaired thinking)

Yes like Intelligent_Nerd it took me a massive effort to break an 8-year habit of abusing poppers to femdom humiliation videos.
In my case involving EMDR, neurofeedback, weightlifting, Bikram yoga, therapy, Sex Addicts Anonymous, etc, etc. I'm now 3 years free of them.
Even so when I'm stressed I still crave them! I ordered a bottle from AliExpress just last week which I'll have to bin!!
I reckon it's no coincidence that it's often guys in their 30s and 40s that get in trouble with poppers. Because we're feeling our libidos start to dip from our youth and we're looking for a lazy way to keep the thrills alive!
But it's a bad choice because it damages your health and weakens your spirit.
Better to put in the work and maximize your fitness! Then your sex life will improve too.

Very true Roger, when the libido dips around age 40 that's when the poppers addiction can start with long term health damaging effects.

Roger, R. Don: Right, I am 50 years old, and I started poppers for compensating reduced libido. I can recommend Tadalafil 5 mg daily for rock hard erection and better sex feeling, and the LSD microdose (10 µg) also somewhat enhances libido due to the euphoric effect, and eliminates longing for poppers: my "just one more time" ideas are gone. And of course Roger's comments recarding fitness are very right indeed

Intelligent _Nerd: I found a combination of Bombyx Mori, Horny Goat Weed and Muira Puama has a dynamic effect on increasing sexual desire.

The key is to not go overboard. I fucking love poppers. The best sex and solo jerk offs I've had have all been using poppers. But I like to buy a bottle...go to town for a couple days. Use them for multiple sessions then I take a 2-3 month break. I use them like a treat, 4-5 times a year. Sometimes with another person, other times alone with some hypno porn. I've never had any serious side effects other than a bit of a headache at the beginning but even now that doesn't happen. You shouldn't be huffing them daily, give your body time to build up resistance it'll feel way better.

@muscularbro good advice!
Never mix poppers with erectile dysfunction products, not even the so called "herbal" type.

musclularbro: Yes going overboard with poppers is a terrible mistake, the body and the mind need a lengthy rest after a session, a month at least. Plenty of exercise too. 4 or 5 times a year is enough.

Thanks to muscle bro for finally concisely stating what many here have been saying for a long time! Poppers, like many other things, should be used in moderation. It seem that there are many reckless individuals who are angered by this fact. Poppers are not a lifestyle, but an occasional indulgence. Those folks that choose to glut themselves on a poppers binge only have themselves to blame. From now they shall be known as popperheads.
Estrogel said on Wed, 16 Jun 2021 at 01:17...
Yah, I, too, second muscularbro's sentiments. Moderation is a healthy necessity. A comedown aftermath CAN be a bit of a spectacle...but consider the zen approach...'After the ecstasy, the laundry.' Musn't beat yourself up. The world will always be there to do that for you. Indulge that which you will within reason. Exercise not just your body but your mind and soul. Love yourself, lovely.
Stopping IS an option as well. There's always a process to 'acquiring' an addictive substance, whether cruising for blow or shopping for poppers or surfing for porn. But you can pour the stuff down the sink, rinse the bottle, pitch it, and give yourself a break. If you relapse, repeat as necessary. Takes a bit of discipline to deny impulses, but after awhile it becomes the new routine.
Shame is a complex set of emotions (try living with and shopping for two sets of clothes for each gender! lol)...so don't vilify yourself for not fully understanding its origins or ramifications. Live and be good to yourself and others. Whether that means taking a break or stopping altogether, listen to your instinct and your heart without ruthlessly judging yourself, and you'll find what's best for YOU.

I dont see why you would feel shame. It's not like you were hurting anyone and your in the comfort of your own home and it's a simple cleanup. Now if you realized you had sex with someone you shouldn't have because poppers pushed you over the edge then I would understand
